Stephen Ministry

You may know of a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or relative who is going through a difficult time. He/she could benefit from the focused care, encouragement, and support of a Stephen Minister.

If you know of someone who is hurting, talk with one of our Stephen Leaders. They can talk with you about how we can connect your friend or family member with one of our Stephen Ministers. It's a great way to show how much you care!

Office Hours

2nd & 4th Monday - 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

1st & 3rd Wednesday - 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

"My Stephen Minister listened to me as no one else could at that point in my life.  He was always there listening, sharing scriptures, praying with me.  That was when I realized that God was still working in my life, Jesus was still saying 'yes' to me, and I was going to be okay."

These are actual words of someone who received care from a Stephen Minister when he was going through a divorce.  Like so many of us, he resisted asking for help at first, but a "voice deep inside" challenged him to ask for help.

    * Do you feel a loss of God's presence?

    * Do you question how God is working in your life?

    * Are you experiencing a life situation that leads you to question whether or not you'll be okay?

Could you benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister?

I think you’d make a great Stephen Leader...

Covenant Presbyterian Stephen Ministry is currently recruiting Stephen Leaders.

Stephen Leaders are the key individuals who work together

to lead Stephen Ministry in the congregation.

What Stephen Leaders Do:

  • Cast a vision and build awareness for Stephen Ministry
  • Recruit, select, and train Stephen Ministers
  • Connect people who need care with Stephen Ministers
  • Provide ongoing supervision and continuing education
  • Keep Stephen Ministry vibrant and strong

So what do I do next?

Serving as a Stephen Leader is a calling and an opportunity, so take some time to...

  • Explore the possibility. Talk with our pastor Steve Burton or one of our Stephen Ministers to learn more about the position.
  • Consider your gifts and abilities, the difference you could make in people’s lives, and the ways you would learn and grow by serving in this way.
  • Pray and reflect. Is God calling you to serve as a Stephen Leader?

If this sounds right for you, contact Robert Hays about registering for a Stephen Leader Training (LTC) – and get ready for a life-transforming experience!
